happy mother's day

My 1st Mother's Day was so special!
We spent the weekend in College Station with the fam.
It was the first time we'd all been together
since Margaret returned home from Argentina!
We had a blast just spending time together.
God has truly blessed me with an amazing husband
and a truly precious son.
I love them both so much more than I can express!

Margaret and I are so thankful for our incredible mom,
who sets such an amazing example every day of how
to serve the Lord and her family in her role as mom.
Thanks, mom, for all that you do for our family!
We are all SO thankful for you!

nesting

This spring we had a family of birds build their nest on our front porch.
While there was quite an excess amount of bird poop,
we loved watching them grow up!
We even got to witness their learning how to fly out of the nest!
Cade especially enjoyed it!

At dusk all the birds would fly and dart around the yard...
It was if mommy bird said "go get out all of your energy before bedtime!"
Cade loved to sit outside with his daddy and watch those silly birds!

bluebonnets

Today we came for a quick visit to College Station,
and Mimi took us to some pretty bluebonnet patches she found!
Cade had a great time...eating them! haha

Happy spring!

yee-haw cowboy

every year fort bend baptist academy hosts a
rodeo day to kick off rodeo season in houston
last year i celebrated it as a teacher, but
this year chunk, his friends weston and grayson,
and their mommies {all former teachers}
came up to school for the festivities!

after all the kiddos had left the gymnasium and
headed off to their next stop, our
little boys got to crawl around and
we snapped some cute pics.
cute, even though cade thought his
straw hat was much more interesting
than mommy's camera.
yee-haw!

azalea trails

what better way to kick off spring than to walk through the azalea trails
at bayou bend and gaze upon the beautiful details
God created just for us in every flower.
we had such a fun time snapping pictures,
laughing at cade's curiosity,
and enjoying time together as a family of 3.

{p.s. the azaleas weren't actually in bloom yet,
because we've had such a cold winter.
but we still got some great pics,
and loved the beautiful tulips,
camelias, dogwoods, and paper whites.
we're planning to go back again
when they're actually in bloom!}

playing at the park

each new season is my favorite because at that time it's exactly what I need.
all seasons bring wonderful, beautiful changes
the change of spring that we're so looking forward to is warmer air and sunshine!
so far, every day that we've had sunshine,
cade and i have packed up the stroller and headed to the park.
 {when i said "packed up the stroller"...
i definitely meant i threw in some clorox wipes
to wipe down the swing and slides b/c he chews on everything}
He looooves those baby swings, and I loooove watching him giggle.
looking forward to many more days like this...

snow day!!

{disclaimer}
I wrote this post two weeks ago...and just uploaded the pics today...

Monday afternoon I was watching the weather forecast...we had a slight, i mean very slight, chance for 1/2 inch of "snowy slush" on Tuesday, but Mimi & Champ had an 80% chance for snow.  What's a mom to do who reeeaaallllllly wants pictures of her chunky 6 month old baby boy in the snow?  We packed up, kissed da-da goodbye, and headed to College Station for a snow day!  We had a blast!  Snow flakes like I've never seen in Texas...some were the size of quarters!  Cade was in awe of the snow falling quickly from the sky.  I think he just didn't know which one to grab and put in his mouth.  The front yard was a blanket of white.  Everything is more beautiful covered in snow :)   We ended up getting 2-3 inches of snow & got some precious pics, too.  We always love going to visit Mimi and Champ.  Can't wait 'til next time!
